is it better to use ac power or battery?

Good evening,

I recentelly got a g4 powerbook titanium for a good price and aslo found a good battery for it online. I'm wondering if its better for battery life to use the powerbook on ac power when its available like when im at home or in starbucks and there is an outlet available or should i use it on battery alone unless the battery needs to be charged? I dont want to harm the powerbook or the battery but still want to get the longest life from the battery.

so from what i gather from that article is i should use the battery fully at least once a month.
