Hello, for the current top of the line rMBP 15 2015, is it easy for the user to upgrade the SSD? Is it as simple as unscrewing the screws using the T6 and #00 screwdrivers?

No, you'll need some special tools to get into the rMBP. Also, there aren't any 3rd party SSDs available for the late 2013 through 2015 rMBP models.

Yep that's the answer, the only drives that are compatable are taken from other macs and will cost you at least as much as ordering the 1TB from Apple.
