Is it easy to remove the upper case of the MacBook Pro 16" 2019?

Hi, I dropped an iPad on my MBP 16" and created a small dent above the Touch Bar. I have Apple Care Plus. Will Apple replace the top case for me for free or at a low cost? Can I open the upper case easily by myself and try to hammer it from the other side to see if I could make the dent disappear or less visible? How likely will it get worse?
