Is it just me or are software downloads always dog slow?

So got a replacement AW 8 from Apple today, went to restore from backup of course update required. 256mb download. Now my connection is 700mb, it could download that in a matter of seconds but nope it still won’t be updated and restored 2 hrs later. I know this as my wife got at AW last month and went through this and at the moment this is going the same way 3hrs remaining lol

You may want to try connecting the watch to your local wifi network and then disabling Bluetooth temporarily to force the software download to use wifi; from what I've read it speeds the process dramatically.
