I get annoyed with the dark mode on the map app on my Apple Watch I just wish we had to ability to toggle from Dark mode to daytime mode.
I guess it does not bother anyone in this forum.

Maybe it has something to do with battery consumption on the watch with daytime mode enabled. It doesn't mirror iPhone when auto is selected in display settings so Apple must of had a reason for implementing it that way good or bad. I actually have my phone always in dark mode so I didn't even notice that you can't change it on the watch until I read your post.. Doesn't bother me as I prefer it that way..
