I have a VW Tiguan and neither the adapter in the little elbow pad or the one that you plug in the cigarette lighter Charges my phone.

is it because the adapter I use for the cigarette lighter is not an apple or is it a possible defect in the cigarette lighter?

The one that also comes in the car, in the elbow thingy, does not charge it either.

Any suggestions on what to get so I can charge my phone in the car?

You also may have a blown fuse.

No, you don't have to use an Apple charger.

yes, it does charge in my husbands Ford (i forget the name)

thanks. I'll just have to buy something from Radio shack, sit out in the car and see if that works.

My husband said he bought his from Radio Shack.
