I use my AirPods in one ear a lot. And I liked being able to turn on the Noise Cancellation for that one ear so the audio from the one AirPod is clear.

Just recently I noticed that when I hold the stem of the AirPod to turn on Noise Cancellation, it gives me quick three tone sound like an error message. Seeing as you can't really prevent firmware updates, I'm assuming I've been updated to the latest version which is A2698.

Is this happening for anyone else? I'm not sure why Apple would make this change. If I have loud environmental sounds on the side I have my AirPod in, it's nice to be able to block that outside sound.
