Is it normal that my polyurethane smart cover smell like 2nd hand smoke?

I bought a "new"smart cover on easy and it stinks. It smells like someone was smoking on it. Is this normal?

No, certainly not. It seems if you purchased this on ebay, it came from a smokers home. What you can try, is to put the cover into a ziplock freezer bag with a dryer sheet or two for a day or so and it should remove that smell for you.
