I got my 15P launch day. At minimum brightness I can see the keyboard faintly on the screen. My 13P did a similar thing but I assumed it was mild OLED burn in due to age. Apple did not ding my 13P trade in value for burn in which I have heard they sometimes do.

I’ve not done anything like leaving my phone screen on overnight or whatever. It’s not bothering me a huge amount, I just want to get it exchanged if this is a defect.

I have never noticed in my devices, but if you can see it and is annoying you, might as well getting it replaced for your peace of mind.

Surprised you have image retention so quickly unless the keyboard is literally on all day every day. I had some image retention from games on my 13PM and was one reason I moved onto the 15. Only visible on low brightness but still annoying as once you see it etc etc. May be worth a swap as it has happened so quickly.

take a picture i wanna see, i wanna see!

I will say this is kind of exaggerated by the photo. It only comes into easy view on a dark grey background between like 15 and 35% brightness in a dark room.

Let’s hope I’m not stuck in the store for another 5 hours this time. When I first got it the iCloud backup server screwed up and had me thinking I might never escape. This year’s launch has been a nightmare.

That’s absolutely not normal. I keep my brightness up pretty high consistently and I haven’t had any burn in issues since the X.

The diagnostics they ran in the store force the display to full brightness and the person was unable to see the issue. I showed the picture but they said nothing could be done because it could not be replicated. Said if it turns out to be a real issue they’ll fix it in a software update. 🙄

Don't book an appointment with Genius! You are still in the 14 days of returns! You just say "hey, I don't like this colour, I want the other colour" and that's it. You don't even have to say anything actually.

I’m just going to get them to mail me a replacement as a chat agent offered earlier, I think I’ve had enough of sitting in that store for this year…

Sure, but just so you know, you can return the phone in the first 14 days for whatever reason or no reason at all.

Don't you have the feeling that even if you deactivate the true tone, depending on the external light you receive, the display turns more or less yellow?

They didn’t want to change/swap my brand new 14 pro max with a dead pixel because they couldn’t see it 🤣🤣🤣 Apple “geniuses” are literally the worst!
