I was wondering how often most people charge their 4S?

I charge mine every night .

It starts out on 100 but during the day I play a bit of games and use safari a lot so by the night it reaches 10 percent. Is this normal?

My usage (from 100 to 0 percent) everyday is about 5 hours and a half to 6 hours. And standby time is usually around 15 hours

Is this normal?

Only if you need it. I only need to charge mine about every two days.

I normally get a day and a half to two days of standby and about 6 hours of usage before I have to recharge.

Yet another battery thread... even though any of the countless others would have told you the same answer.

There's no such thing as 'normal' - everyone uses their phones differently.

Very little can be told by the 'Usage / Standby' numbers since some apps are very heavy drains on the battery while others barely use it.... yet they both count the same.

From what I can tell, it's normal to charge ANY smartphone nightly. Even if they can last 2 days on a charge, there's little reason to risk it running out at an inopportune time.

Exactly.

There are just so many variables involved that it's impossible to determine what "normal" is.

What can be said is that it's not uncommon to charge an iPhone every day.

Completely agree to what you said. People need to learn how to search.

My question to OP, is it normal to refill petrol when the tank is empty?

Yes

But what I meant was, "considering what I use it for, is it normal for an iPhone 4s to use a full cycle in one day?"

Yes

We really can't tell from a few lines what your usage is like. There are too many variables:

What games?
What web sites?
What brightness is the screen set to?
Is audio on?
If audio is on are you using headphones?
Do you use Wi-Fi?
Is the Wi-Fi signal strength good?
Do you turn Wi-Fi off if you aren't using it?
If you use a cellular network, is the signal good?
Do you have Bluetooth on?
Do you have a push email account set up?
Do you have several push accounts?
Do you regularly get push notifications from Apps like Facebook?

Try and ignore the pedantic forum users :p

Your situation sounds very normal too me... i charge mine every night. and have a backup charger at work if i need alittle extra juice.

If you actually use the phone you will likely go through most of the battery in a day. If the usage is light and mostly wifi you may not. 3G kills the batter whether it's talk of data. Screen brightness also plays an important role.

What brightness is the screen set to? If it was a percentage I would say 25

Is audio on? Yes

If audio is on are you using headphones? No

Do you use Wi-Fi? Yes

Is the Wi-Fi signal strength good? It's ok

Do you turn Wi-Fi off if you aren't using it? No

If you use a cellular network, is the signal good? Its ok

Do you have Bluetooth on? No

Do you have a push email account set up? No

Do you have several push accounts? No

Do you regularly get push notifications from Apps like Facebook? No

Yes I charge every night. Depending on my usage either my phone will be about 10% left at night and I charge or I will have used my mophie and the phone is like 80% but I have to recharge my mophie. Either way I charge every night.

Yes, I charge my phone every night. Sometimes more than once a day depending on how much I use it. One thing you can do to improve battery life is quit any unused applications. Also if you do not use bluetooth or wireless, you can turn both those off to help conserve battery life.

What about the games/sites?

You don't have to be too specific.

A game like Words With Friends would use less power than Infinity Blade.

Similarly, a web page with just text on it is going to use less power than something with lots of images, animation or videos.

As many people have probably already mentioned, no-one can accurately answer the question. It depends on the usage!!
