Is it normal to see such a drastic battery drain while gaming?

Example: Booted up at 100% started playing Minecraft and was at 90% in about 10 minutes and only had like 2 hours left according to my Battery Settings.

System also runs very hot while doing this. Nothing much else open in background.

Sounds totally normal, especially depending on screen brightness.

sure minecraft is java, extremely inefficient, so loads of cpu usage

Of course, battery life is directly dependant on CPU and GPU usage. The more processing power you use, the more battery you use.

Gaming will suck up battery pretty much faster than anything else.
