I have a laptop which I've decided I want to use for certain things (coding mostly) and leaving the 'fun' things for my mac Mini. I want to maximise disk space on my MBP. As such, I have deleted iTunes and the iLife applications. As I access all my PIM stuff through the web, I had considered deleting iCal and Mail also, as I will never use them.

I know that I can install iLife again if I need it. I'm not so sure about Mail and iCal. Is it safe to delete these? Could I get them back without a full OS reinstall?

Thanks, I'll look into that.

At the least I'd save 128 MB. Not a massive amount I suppose. I'm just mindful of disk space.

How did you come to those figures? My Mail.app is 77.3 MB and iCal.app is 51.5 MB.

I'm guessing because I use Monolingual to remove all the unused language support. Some like it and some don't, but it's saved me over 1GB of space without removing any software.
