Apps like GIMP and LibreOffice do not update by themselves. I have to download app's new version and put it into App Folder. It asks if I want to remove previous version.

Should I remove older version from App Folder myself or can I just drop newer version to App Folder and let App itself write over/remove the previous version?

Nah... there is no reason to remove the old one first. Just drag the newer one in and it will replace the old application package.
