I sit both my (always-on) externals atop my Studio, and the only thing I used to worry about is teh Scratching.

I don't concern myself with these things anymore

I have an NVMe sitting on top of my Studio, a WD Elements HDD next to the Studio and another NVMe SSD sitting on top of a fan a few inches from the Studio. I got the Studio and HDD in 2022 and it's been running fine over that time.
