Is it okay to scrub a smart cover?

I ordered a "new" orange one from eBay and it smelled like cigarettes. I washed it in Palmolive and Windex and Febreeze. I don't want the covers color to die.

Kind of late to be asking, no? Can't you answer the question yourself at this point?
