First, what do I mean by network ? Imagine I'm connected to internet through a local ethernet network where all users connect to Internet through access points or routers. I'm able to see many computers in Finder under SHARED label, there are about 95 on the network, but I cant read their files.

I want to know if they are able to read the files placed on my macbook in the "Users/Shared/" folder ?

The /users/shared folder is for sharing files between users of the same Mac. They are not visible to anyone on a network, unless you share that folder on the network.
