I own an iPhone and I'm interested in an iPad and possibly an iMac but they just don't do anything together at all. For now I'd have to rely on apps like dropbox. For example I wanted a notes app that would sync everything between devices and a computer. So I got notesy and its only possible because of dropbox.

Would an update allow the apple products to sync together and developers just update there apps for it to work or is that not possible?

Of course it is possible...

The better question is: Will Apple do it?

But, the answer to that question is: Who the heck knows?

And the final answer to that would be: Steve Jobs.

So, the only way you will get a straight answer is by contacting Steve Jobs.

I guess you could get apps which sync to the web like amazon kindle. Microsoft One Note is a neat app for notes.

With a paid subscription of MobileMe you can get over the air synchronization of the email, calendar, contacts, and safari bookmarks.
