Throughout the Mac product line, the regular iMac is the only product without the T2 chip. I wonder if it is possible for apple to limit any hardware with a 10th-gen intel processor that does not have an T-2 chip from running the macOS. If so,
 
I've set up several hackintoshes myself and it can be a PITA sometimes. I think Apple has tried to make it more difficult in the past so I would not be surprised in the slightest if they took more steps in the future like you are suggesting.
