Is it possible to connect a blu-ray player to an imac and run it with VMware?

From what I have researched, OSX does not currently support the playback of commercial blu-ray discs. I'm pretty sure you can hook up an external blu-ray player to a pc though and achieve playback that way.

Is it possible to do this in OSX through VMware though? If not can you use bootcamp and connect an external blu-ray player that way?

Nope... in order to playback bluray discs at full 1080p, you have to have DRM enabled everything including your monitor. VMware won't work because of it's video driver. Bootcamp wont work because of the display.


You can only use bluray for storage.
