iPhone 12 Pro Is it possible to disable 5G on the iPhone 12 Pro on Verizon?

curious as well similar to disabling LTE. I don't necessarily want to drain my battery life on 5g.
Why would you? Any Verizon plan supports the 5G Nationwide roll-out. You will benefit from that with any 5G capable phone without extra cost. The high-speed 5G UW network requires one of the new higher end Unlimited plans (like the one you seem to have). That, however, is only available in select cities as of yet.
If you have several lines on an existing plan you can also "mix and match" different plans for different lines.

Wasn't Apple touting the fact that it only used 5G when 'needed'?
Mainly would like to know if we can have control over whether 5G is used.
I know Apple mentioned the new iPhones would only use 5G when needed, but it would still be nice to have control over that.

Also I'm on Verizon prepaid which does not have 5g, and plan to stay on it because it's a great deal

Seems like it says it's automatically enabled and nothing special needs to be done to turn it on. Doesn't seem like it says much one way or another about being able to turn it off.
