Is it possible to dual boot Mac OSX on the same drive?

Is it possible to dual boot Mac OSX on the same drive? Basically what I want to do is split my 128GB SSD and install MAC OSX on each drive so I have two separate systems. I've done that with windows 7 on my PC and I hope it's possible on my Macbook book air. Thank you!

Open Disk Utility and make a 2nd partition and then install OSX on that partition.
