I accidentally stepped on an electronic dictionary(long story) today and well, now it has a cracked LCD. Is that at all possible to replace, or am I going to have to buy a new one:mad:

You should be able to replace it, if you can source a replacement.

Whether it is worth the time and effort is another question.

Simple to replace but does the cost compared to buying a replacement warrent it ? you may find it easier just to replace the thing

The hard thing with an electronic dictionary is that, unlike notebook computers, people aren't repairing these so frequently. So you'll have to figure out exactly what LCD unit you need and find one. You would be lucky if you could find someone who has another one of these that's broken in some other way (functional LCD), and then scavenge from it, but... realistically, I think the market for electronic dictionaries is insufficient to support that. :(

Thanks for the info, I will just have to suck it up and by a new one then :(
