I have my MacBook plugged in 99 percent of the time but I noticed my battery health declining already. I was wondering if I can just get it to ignore the battery? Cause MacOS can disable it with that new optimiser feature where it puts charging "on hold". This will just increase the life of my battery rather than having it constantly topped up at 100 percent.

You can try using AlDente. To set the charge limit. As macOS is able to limit the charge. At least on newer models. I assume this tool works. Haven't tried it myself.

Then you can run down the battery some. Set the limit in the 60-80% range. Then put it back on charge. To go up to whatever limit you set. Don't forget to turn it off. When you know you'll need battery power. To get a full charge.

I don't really get why. Since macOS can do this automatically. Based on usage. They don't allow people to set a charge limit manually in System Preferences.
