Is it possible to forge a signature on an electronic certificate?

I'm not looking to so this, especially because it's probably difficult and I want a legitimate certificate for my site, but is there a way to forge a signature on an electronic certificate used for connecting to a site via HTTPS/SSL that looks like it came from Comodo or VeriSign? This is for informational purposes only, so thanks for your help!
