my notebook is coming near to its 2 year life and so far no problems! I'm glad it has been so resilient to any problems except the terrible battery life that is not covered by applecare which totally sucks. But 1 more year of applecare seems short for me, I, like many others, worry their computer will crumble after the 3year 1 day. I just want to feel secure:)

Not sure if you can recharge your applecare 1 year before it expires.

If you bought with Amex, you'll automatically have an extra year tacked on to the end of applecare.

The battery is covered. It should last ~300 cycles with ~80% health. If yours is worse health wise with less cycles, call Apple and they most likely will send you a new one for free.

I've had 660 cycles with my battery and it barely lasts an hour with brightness up full (compared to nearly 3 hours when it was new)!

Pity I'm outside of my 1-year AppleCare though.
