Say I have an external drive with 5 partitions that I don't want to show up on my Fiancee's login. Can I get them off the desktop? I don't care if she can get to them through windows, but she does not need them on the desktop.

Thanks :)

There's a preference setting that will remove all drives from the desktop, but I go there so seldomly that I don't know where it is... I guess the first place I'd check is the 'view' menu in the finder... but I'm pretty sure it's in the System Preferences somewhere. Man I hate working on windows machine, I'm sure I'd find it in about 20 seconds if I had OS X up infront of me.

Finder > Preferences > Show these items on the Desktop

Interesting, the External partitions show up under CDs, DVDs, and ipods. I wonder why that is. So that sucks, I can't hide all that stuff!
