is it possible to install Mail from Lion into Mountain Lion

odd question I know but after going through over a dozen news readers to replace the soon to be defunct Google Reader and disliking all of them I'm looking for something that's basically just like the RSS functions in Mac Mail. simple, links to safari with little fuss and lets me save articles in folders to look at again later without having to use evernote, readability etc.

so if I could install the whole Mac Mail, even if alongside the current, to use the RSS function that would be fine for now. Or does anyone know of a very simple RSS reader like Mac Mail add that would not require me to have Google Reader, Feedbin etc.

You won't be able to install/use Lion's Mail app in Mountain Lion.

Try out the free RSS app Vienna. It can be used stand alone without Google Reader sync.

I'll second this. And add that you will want to play around with the View preferences until you find one you like. It has several options and you may like one of them better than the default view on Vienna
