Is it possible to make a recovery disc for 15" Macbook Pro

Hi,

I have a 15" Late 2011 Macbook Pro 8.2 , OS: Mac OSX Ver 10.7.5

I do not have any recovery discs or operating system discs, so If I want to reinstall the operating system how can I do this ??

Usually in Windows there is a recovery disc that does this.

Also I would like to reset the system to the default factory settings (erase hard disk etc.), how can I do this ???

You can use internet recovery on your Mac by holding down the R key on boot up, you can also make a bootable USB disk using disk creator, but you best bet is to use Time Machine and an external HDD for backups

I am more keen on recovering operating system, I don't mind if the applications are not recovered as I use very few applications for my work As for the data files i backup them up to an external hard disk anyway..

I prefer thumb drive - but you can also make a bootable DVD.
