Hi,
Is it possible to play anything above 320kbps on an iOS device or iTunes?

in iTunes you certainly can so long as it is in a supported format. on iOS i'm not sure but i'd guess as well that so long as it is in a supported format such as Apple Lossless it wouldn't be a problem.

Yes, in Apple formats such as Apple Lossless and AIFF. Apple Lossless is your best bet, but you will not find such formats available in the iTunes or Amazon store. Most cases the only way to get anything above 320kbps is to a rip a CD into iTunes in Apple Lossless format, and you will be set.

I convert all my FLACs or lossless to apple lossless. Only thing you can really do without changing your music player that is.
