I have a Vista HTPC in my theater using MC to record HDTV. I use an unRAID server for storage and have a Mac Pro for my general computer use. Is there a program (or way) to play these HDTV files on my Mac Pro? The extension is dvr-ms but from what I've read they are just standard HDTV .tp files with some meta data added. I don't want to convert them since I need them to be MC compatible to play in my HT.

I installed Perian codec suite but that didn't work. I've also tried MC in Fusion VM and that won't work either because it doesn't offer enough video memory.

Does anyone know of a way to play these files in OS X?

i seem to recall that mplayer works (sometimes). give that a shot.
Thanks, tried it but it doesn't seem to work. I will play with it some more but not too hopeful. Any other suggestions to try would be appreciated.
