Is it possible to receive push notifications from an iPhone app that runs in compatibility mode?

I use Instagram on my iPad Air (iOS 12), but I don't receive any notifications about messages, etc. Needless to say, they are enabled in the app.

Is this a restriction from iOS 12 or what? I think it wasn't a problem some iOS iterations back...

Thanks for confirming that it works. I had to reinstall the app and now it’s fine. I don’t know what happened though.
