I am working in FCPX.

FCPX tells me I need to delete some files from my 500GB external drive to make more space. So I did. About 200 gigs of files I deleted.

When I go into disk utility, it is still telling me there is only 9GB of space left.

How do I refresh this so it displays accurate information? Right now FCPX still tells me I need to make more room on my drive. I have restarted, I have ejected and still have nothing...

plz help thanks :)

To "refresh" Disk Utility just quit it and launch it again.

AH!

Even after RE SCANNING it in Daisy Disk it is still telling me theres no space.
********

When you say "delete," are you putting files in the Trash then emptying the Trash? Perhaps post a screenshot.

As mentioned above, clean out your trash. If Disk Utility and Daisy disk are both claiming the files are still on your system, it's very likely that they are. If you open up the trash you'll likely see them all. Empty that and you'll be good to go.

WOW I am stupid.

I didn't think you had to empty trash for an external drive.
I assumed command + delete would do it.

Thanks for all your guys help.
