Is it possible to remove scratches from MBP without causing damage?

Is it possible to remove scratches from MBP without causing damage? So I put a scratch on my brand new MBP (a few days old) and it hurts. Its a tiny, negligible scratch though. But still, I'd like to know if there is a possible way to get rid of it. There was a tiny particle (don't know what it was) on the desk. And I kinda pushed the MBP back on the desk which caused the scratch. Its very tiny and negligible but I want to keep it in perfect condition as I intend to sell it as soon as the 2018 version comes out. So it'll be better if I keep it in perfectly new condition. Lesson learned: Don't wait until Black Friday and order a hard case today.

I've had good results with "Mr Clean Magic Eraser" on light scratches, make sure it is the "original" and keep the area being treated wet.
