Is it possible to revert the color of the text cursor to black?

Title says it.

And why the heck does the cursor suddenly need to be coloured differently after decades of not posing any troubles being black? Who at Apple comes up with stupid ideas like that? It is extremely irritating and distracting to have a coloured text cursor.
