Unfortunately no, because the files aren't kept on your iPhone as MP3 files to my knowledge.

So all those files have strange names how does one put a song file from itunes in that folder and have it appear in the the ipod app? When i added a song file named wildcat.mp3 it didnt appear in the app.

I found the files they are Mp3 and i uploaded one to my Mac and opened it in itunes and it worked fine... However going backwards uploading to the phone i couldnt find the file on my phone in the ipod.

iTunes creates a database file that has all the files indexed for the iPod. You would need to add the new file to the database for it to show up in the iPod app.

I have no idea if that's possible or how to do it.

You can ssh it in and use dtunes, AVplayer or one of the other JB media players to play it, but not through the iPod app.

if im correct

if i am correct it does not use mp3's but mp4's which i got mp4's from d tunes took out from /var/mobile/library/downloads (note when looking for this there is a directory that is /var/mobile/downloads really pissed me off when i finally got it :apple:) so idk if it works but i will try it noy thanks whoever put the directory for it i really needed that.:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

if it's an m4a or an mp3 on the computer, it's the same when it's transfered to the iPhone, however, just placing mp3s in the folder won't make them show up in the MobileMusicPlayer.app

hey its not nessary

hey i found out you could just take the stuff from /var/mobile/library/downloads put it into itunes and sync it all to the iphone or ipod so it isnt really nessary to ssh into ipod or music app!!!:apple: btw it has to go thrugh itunes by how it was made u cant just place it there theres somthing itunes does with folders and sutch idk what the hell it does but i wanna know any 1 elese know anything on this subject????
