I was just wondering if it was possible to trade in your current iPod touch and get the new generation while paying like $100 instead of having to buy a whole new iPod

Apple doesn't do that... on anything afaik.

I remember carriers doing this for iPhones, but I can't see many retail outlets offering part-exchange. You might be able to find such a scheme somewhere, but probably only when a new generation is released.
