My friend has an iPhone 4 iOS 4.0.2 and she's interested to jailbreak and unlock it.
Does anyone know if it's possible? If so can someone link me to a good tutorial?

What about the unlock?

She has an unlockable baseband if it has never been past 4.0.2

Have her save her shsh blobs with TinyUmbrella http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com

She can update to 4.1 without updating her baseband if she follows the instructions here: http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-09-17T19:37:00-04:00&max-results=1

alternatively, she can create a custom ipsw with pwnagetool and update ot 4.1 without updating baseband that way.


if she has baseband (modem firmware) verion 01.59.00 she can unlock. If she updates the baseband that is that, she won't be able to downgrade.

Since there is a jailbreak that works with 4.1 she might as well update to it.

Perhaps the name you are using Blindsoul suits you better than you think. The sixth item down on the Jailbreak page said how to jailbreak an iphone 4 on
4. 4.0.1, 4.0.2 and 4.1 with limera1n.

Yes, Possible, just use Pwnage tool if you are on a mac, restore to a custom 4.1 (or older if you want) keeping the old baseband and them download ultrasn0w from Cydia and BOOM...you are JB and unlocked

Once the phone is jailbroken, go to cydia and d/l ultrasnow.
