Is it safe to leave my USB cable attached?

I charge my phone everyday. Can I just leave the USB cable attached to my MacBook at all times? Is it going to damage my laptop or phone? Thanks.
 
I don't think it would cause any problems, it may get annoying if you try to carry your macbook around though.
 
Like it won't drain the Macbook's battery if it's left attached and not plugged into the iPhone? Thanks.
 
I used to have my USB plugged into my iMac 24/7. So now, I don't think you're gonna have any problems other than the ones you may cause yourself such as ripping out the cord or something of that sort. But if you leave it there, it'll be fine.
