Is it safe to move from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 on phoneless iPhone yet?

I have a 1.0.2 iPhone that I don't use as a phone- just as an iPod/internet device.

I activated with Independence and have used Installer (?Apptap) to add a bunch of apps.

Is it safe to move to 1.1.1 yet? I know there was all sorts of worry in the past, but I haven't heard a definite statement from anyone yet.

Or is it best to leave things as is since all is working well?

If I go to 1.1.1, do I need to re-virginize my phone somehow (How?)
Then I guess I go to 1.1.1 and then do the independence thing again?

i'd say to wait, ive been looking into it this evening and i was gonna attempt to upgrade but then i left it didnt wana risk it since the other people on the forum posting were having probs.
