i use godaddy's cheap hosting account for my website. i use rapid weaver and transmit to keep it up.

i still have a few gb's left on it and was wondering how safe it would be to keep things backed up to the same hosting account that people browse on?

i know there is a way to password protect a directory but havent found a simple tutorial on it. if i figured that out and uploaded a ase-128 bit encrypted disk image of my personal stuff (emails, add book, icals, bookmarks, personal files, etc ...) would that be safe?

any thoughts or advice appreciated
thanks!
