Is it safe to use made in China app?

Hi, I was an Android user. I used an excellent app which was made in China. As far as I know, no problem with security nor virus. How is the case with iOS app? Can I assume that if an app has made it to the App Store, it is OK to use it?

Generally speaking it should be fine. That said, occasionally things can slip through (and not necessarily just from apps from a particular country).
