Generally I don't use any android charger for charging my iPhone 15 Pro Max. But once in a bluemoon if I forget to bring my charger, is it safe to use other USB Type C cable which I can mount into the USB Port of my Desktop for charging?

I barely ever use Apple chargers. To be honest, I don’t even own an Apple USB-C charger (ok, I do: the one that came with my 2018 iPad Pro, but it’s sitting somewhere in a drawer).
As long as I own iPhones (3G), I am using Anker or UGreen Chargers, most of the time the ones with more than just one port to charge multiple devices at once.

With my current iPhone 14 Pro Max, I am using an Anker 735 charger with 65W peak, two USB-C ports and one USB-A port.
This way, I can charge my iPhone and my watch or my iPad together, or me and my wife charge our phones simultaneously while chilling on the couch.

My Pro Max still showing 99% battery health after 14 months being charged by that Anker charger, so it’s safe to say that it doesn’t hurt your iPhone at all ;)

Yes, its why they had to change to USB-C due to the EU laws so any cable can be used.

The only caveat is depending on the charger or the cable, you might not get the fast charging.

OK. Some time ago I read an article where apple warned of using third party cables and charges as it can cause the battery to overheat.

This should not be so as the iPhone regulates the charging and not the cable or charging block. the only danger is if the cable or charging block is defective but even this should not harm the phone. I prefer to stick to name brands like Apple, Anker, etc.

It's safe.
Something a bit off topic but still might be useful: I've had problems with third party chargers and letting devices completely discharge. This on several devices.
They seem to go below some sort of threshold and then won't charge.
Plug them back into an Apple charger and they work fine, and then again on third party chargers.
It's just if you let them discharge to the point they switch off some chargers don't seem to work.

That was probably referring to lightning cables, since some cheap ones are not MFI certified. But when it comes to USB-C its open tech so they are all the same.

I use a third party USB-C charge cable (came with my Samsung T7 SSD) in my car along with a USB-C car charger. At home I have an Anker 45W with two C ports. At work I use Anker 735 to charge my MacBook Pro and iPhone.
