Hi,

I'd like to remove the Optical Drive on a MBP 2010 and I saw the video of the OWC Data Doubler. How does OWC DD compare to the MCE metal version? The MCE seems sturdier and seems like it would hold the drive in place much better. The OWC is $75. MCE is $99. Have you used OWC DD and is it working for you?

I did see that there was recent discussion of the screws being a problem on OWC. Has this issue been resolved? I recall the OWC installation video advised using the screws they provided.

Thanks.

I've used one. They're quite sturdy, and hold the drive in place quite well. If you use the provided screws, it will install no problem.
