Is it stupid to buy MacBook Air now because it still has the old keyboard?

Hello, given various issues with the MBP 2018 and the uncomfortable butterfly keyboard, I wonder if it is a good idea to buy the Air as an ultra-portable to do light productivity work. Any opinion? The MBP 2018 13" with Apple Care and tax costs just over CAD$3000.

How can it drive 4K display at 60Hz?
 
Even if your workload can easily be met by the MacBook Air; I wouldn't pay today's top dollar for years old industrial design and internal hardware. Buy only if you get a significant discount.
