Macbook Pro Unibody 5.1 (Late 2008)

Age: 29 months
Battery Cycle Loads: 274

Current Capacity: 2597 out of 4600

and it says to service battery.

If a new battery is needed, will the new battery give me the 6 hour life unlike the ~2:30 hours that the battery gave me when i bought it (because of technology)?

thanks

The new batteries last longer because they are just that much bigger. A new battery in your case will give you the same life as when you bought it.
