Is it time to dump Final Cut Express?

I've been having weird problems running FCE under Lion. Transitions can't be placed, the program will sometimes lockup etc. I'm afraid it will soon be rendered useless under future OS updates.

How is the changeover to Final Cut X? Is there a long learning curve and has the program been satisfactory?

I'm liking it. I'm not the only one who get's a spinning beachball when launching it am I? I have 8gb of ram and an i5 processor. Anyway I think you should switch to FCP X. Motion 5 seems a little laggy though.
