I saw on a YouTube video that normal emails no longer appear in the notification center and only ones you have as VIPs will come up in notification center is that correct?

And with the VIPs how do you add to the VIP list? Is it only people's email that can be added or can you add emails aka google alerts as VIP?

Normal emails do show in notification center as in iOS 5.

You can add an email address to VIP within the mail app. You add email address, not actual email conversations.

you have to manually enable mail notifications via notification center settings as they are disabled (don't know why) by default

That's not true. Emails will always show up in Notification Centre, whether they are VIP or not. Make sure you have turned it on in the settings though!

I have noticed that, at least in my case, if I delete a new email almost immediately after opening it, it stays in the notification menu even though it has been moved to trash.
