I read the iPhone buying guide somewhere on this site (sorry, lost link, not in my history) and one of the key points was that I would need a credit card, as debit cards won't be able to preorder.

Is this true? If so, could I go to the store and preorder with a debit?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not buying it. I personally think any card with a major credit card icon on it will work.

does your debit card have a mastercard or visa symbol on it? If so you can use it as a credit card to pre order online

This has been answered a ridiculous amount of times.

Yes, you can pre-order with a debit as long as the funds are available and it is branded Visa or Mastercard.

There are about 10 posts on this subject, and there is a general consensus that if the debit card has a visa or mastercard symbol you should be fine. just search "debit" and you can read all about it.

Yes, it is a Visa. But it is initially a debit card. So I'll still be able to use it? Sorry, I don't know much about this credit/debit card deal.

Alright, thanks for your responses. Sorry, I didn't check for the threads.

Yes, as per apple's website, you can use a debit card. However, they "recommend" you use a credit card because debit cards typically have daily spending limits and you cannot order something for more than your limit without it getting delayed.
