Is it true that MagSafe battery packs harm the battery more, which can cause the battery health to drop faster?

iPhone 17 Pro
I was thinking about getting Anker Nano 5K slim or 10K slim

Depends on the MagSafe battery - the Apple one? The Apple one communicates with the phone and prevents phone damage. However, other MagSafe batteries will just provide power to the phone and can cause extreme heat to the iPhone's battery - but the iPhone will often stop requesting power when temperatures are high.

Wireless charging has a bit more of an impact on the iPhone battery - but the Apple one is really good about reducing heat and helping longevity.

Also curious your iPhone model?

Thank you for asking this, as I was wondering the exact same thing. I figured it may just be nonsense, but I just got my new phone and I’m very nervous about unnecessary battery degradation!

I’ll be keeping an eye on this, as I’m sure this is the best place to get fairly accurate info regarding this issue.

Wireless charging will always generate more heat. Don’t buy one from 7/11 and you’ll be fine, but wireless charging is always warmer
