I have no idea, but some people on this forum said that they have a week holiday. And most of them won't be working

I just did some search and it turns out it really is their National Day (or week for that matter). It runs from 1st to 7th.

While the Chinese are entitled to their Holiday, I can't believe Apple would plan their launch around this time, knowing production would come to a halt/slow down for an entire week.

I completely agree. This is a crucial time for sales. They should give them time and a half to persuade them to stay and work haha

Foxconn workers are paid triple time for working during the holidays.

UPS says that their service will be impacted Oct 1-3. But there is a UPS flight out of China later today.

I couldn't imagine the Chinese actually getting a week off for any reason. Think about it....it wasn't that long ago that we were reading about suicides because of work conditions. Now they get a week off while there's big money to be made?? No way.

The Chinese are all off work for a week. I am here at the moment and they are all off.
